Common Lantana

Lantana camara is a delightful addition to any garden or outdoors. Known for its colourful clusters of blooms this plant offers a vibrant display. There are several varieties that come with flowers in a range of hues, from fiery reds to vibrant pinks and yellows and subtle lavender colour and white. These blossoms create a striking contrast against the lush green foliage.
Lantana is a shrubby perennial, attracting butterflies and other pollinators to the garden.
The plant grows wild in shrubby grasslands and forests and is considered an invasive weed!
The fruit is a favourite food of many birds and small critters.
It is interesting to note that the flower clusters change colour as they mature, often displaying two or three different colours at a time, such as yellow, orange, red or white. Lantana flowers symbolize resilience, transformation and diversity.
